This watercolor painting, Lancaster Police Station (Prince & Chestnut Sts.), is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  It was painted as a fundraiser.  Click Fundraisers.  Today the Lancaster Bureau of Police is a full service police department providing service to the City of Lancaster and from 1970 to 2009, to Lancaster Township on a contractual basis.  The Bureau is the largest and only urban law enforcement agency in Lancaster County, serving a population of 70,000 residents.  Current manpower consists of approximately 158 sworn officers and 46 civilian employees.  According to Lancaster Chief of Police, Keith R. Sadler, the Lancaster Bureau of Police is to provide outstanding service with professionalism and integrity.  He said that their motto is straightforward:  Duty, honor, courage and commitment.  The Lancaster Bureau of Police use the red rose as their shoulder patch which represents Lancaster's historic relationship with the House of Lancaster in England.  In 2006, the artist presented this framed print to the Lancaster Bureau of Police.  Lancaster Police Captain, Don Palmer, Lancaster Mayor, Rick Gray, former Lancaster County Commissioner,  Jim Huber, several police officers and members of the community were at the presentation.  The presentatiion took place at D & J Scott Galleries, located on North Queen Street in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  Notice the details in the beautiful building, police car, police officer and landscape - they are all very accurate!  The artist has also painted two other Lancaster Police Stations.  Click Gallery.  This print is available as a limited edition and open edition.
