Franklin and Marshall College is the nation's 14th oldest college in the United States and the 3rd oldest in Pennsylvania. It is located on College Avenue is Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The artist depicted Old Main in the center, Goethean Hall and Diagnothian Hall on either side and a touch of the library on the left and the Liberal Arts building on the right. The two towers behind Old Main were nicknamed Martha and George. Also, the statue of Benjamin Franklin can be seen on the right. The artist even depicted himself walking towards the campus. In the picture is his daughter, Alyssa, and a boy throwing a snowball. The detail in the painting is superb! On April 10, 1987, the artist presented a limited edition print of this painting to Dr. James Powell, President of Franklin and Marshall College. It was a cold day when the artist painted this scene. This print is available as a limited edition, open edition, in a diploma frame, and as a collectible. Individuals have even used this print framed with two openings - one for the print and the other for a diploma or a photograph. (Diploma, wedding, award, sports, etc.)
