This watercolor painting is of Hunsecker's Mill Covered Bridge located off of Route 23 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Built in 1843 by John Russell, this wooden bridge with a double Burr arch trusses design, spans the Conestoga River. It is the longest single span covered bridge in Lancaster County with a length of 180 feet. The Colemanville Covered Bridge is the second longest covered bridge in Lancaster County and the artist painted it as well. Click Gallery. Hurricane Agnes damaged it in 1972 and it was rebuilt in 1973. Notice the attention the artist took when he painted the bridge - every little detail is painstakingly portrayed. The vibrant sky adds to the beauty of the painting and the landscape around it is charming. Also, the artist painted a cardinal sitting on the fence. The feeling and details in this painting are magnificent! This print is available as a limited edition, open edition and as a collectible.
