This watercolor painting, Columbia #1 Fire Department, located on South Front Street, Columbia, Pennsylvania, was a fundraiser. Click Fundraisers. The painting was done in memory of the artist's friend, Mitch Lutz, who was the Fire Chief of this department. The artist presented the current Fire Chief, Mr. Scott Ryno, with a limited edition print and it hangs at the Fire Department. The mission of the Columbia No. 1 Fire Department is to protect the lives and property of the citizens and visitors of the Borough of Columbia and neighboring communities from the ravishes of fire and other disasters through public safety education, the extinguishing of fires, and providing to its customers an organization of men and women which they can depend and feel proud. With the funds raised from this print, the department purchased a trailer for its boat. Prepress and printing services were donated by the White Rose Printing Company, York, Pennsylvania. The artist has a touching photograph of Fire Chief Ryno, himself, and Mitch's son. Standing on the runner of the truck, young Mitch is seen fully dressed in his fire suit and proudly saluting. The detail of the building and fire truck are meticulously portrayed. This print is available as a limited edition, open edition and as a collectible.
